Summer 2021

Small group, outdoor summer programs

July 12-16 and July 19-23 headquartered at the Omni Shoreham Hotel
*Both weeks are full and waitlisted.

If you'd like to know how we're running our small group, outdoor summer programs this year, please click the link above to read through the important information about the weeks of July 12-16 and July 19-23. Our approach will remain the same at all summer locations.

Please stay tuned for location and registration announcements for additional summer weeks!

UAS Summer 2021 Update/Event space request
We are working on several possible spaces for our summer programs so that we can sustain fully outdoor programs this summer, and we are preparing to open registration soon! Thank you for your suggestions, connections, patience, and excitement!

We expect current pandemic limitations to continue for some or all of the summer, so we are trying to identify locations that have--or are located near--a large greenspace, and which could potentially host dropoff and pickup, allow safe but regular bathroom access, and offer a place to shelter as necessary. We plan to spend most of the day outside, but need a safe, ventilated shelter in case of lightning, air quality warnings, or heat advisories.

If you know of an office, community organization, university, hotel, school, or business that might be willing to help, we would love to be connected with them! Email us your ideas: info@urbanadventuresquad.org

CAMPAIGN TO SAVE THE SQUAD
The future is complicated. Make the summer simple with a Squad-sustaining membership.

For families with rising 2nd-8th grade students in summer 2021 only. Offer ends at 11:59PM on Feb. 28, 2021.
It's been quite a year for us. We've dealt with devastating financial losses and yet we have continued to innovate and reinvent our programs. We can no longer meet our payroll obligations, and yet we are more relevant--and more nimble--than ever before. We continue to offer safe, equitable outdoor learning opportunities all year round--right through the winter!--and we support teachers and schools who want to bring students outdoors.

SQUAD-SUSTAINING MEMBERSHIPS
We traditionally open registration for summer programs on January 1st and receive an influx of summer program fees that help keep us afloat all year. With an uncertain summer upon us, we're trying something new by offering two membership options for families. These new membership options will allow families to invest in the Squad and have unlimited access to our programs between June and December 2021--whatever those programs may look like. *For families with rising 2nd-8th grade students in summer 2021 only.

$3,000 membership for families with one child
$4,000 membership for families with two or more children

Your membership gives us the support we need to sustain the Squad after the most difficult year in our short history. We don't yet know what summer 2021 will look like, but we do know that the Squad will be ready. After a summer of virtual sessions and a fall of outdoor programs, we're prepared to support families across the city, safely and joyfully, in any scenario next year.

HOW TO PURCHASE A SUSTAINING MEMBERSHIP
You will need to: create a new account or log into your existing account. This link takes you to our registration site, which is powered by UltraCamp. First-time users must create an account (this is required for registration for all UAS programs). Returning users can log into their accounts.

Once you've created your account or logged in, click MAKE A RESERVATION then VIEW UPCOMING SESSIONS. Scroll down until you see
Save the Squad Campaign MEMBERSHIP (One child) and Save the Squad Campaign MEMBERSHIP (Two or more children). By registering for a membership session, you're purchasing a membership that will give your family unlimited access to programs June-December 2021.

HOW MANY PROGRAMS DOES A MEMBERSHIP WORK OUT TO?
BASED ON 2019 PROGRAMS….
  • 8 weeks of full day (8-hr) summer programs
  • 9 full day (8-hr) programs on federal holidays, parent-teacher conference and professional development days
  • 2 weeks of full day (8-hr) winter break programs
For a total of ~57 days of programming!

BASED ON 2020 PROGRAMS….
  • 11 weeks of virtual summer programs (two 1-hr sessions per day) for a total of 100 hours of virtual hands-on learning sessions
  • 40 in-person small group, outdoor programs (2-hr or 3-hr sessions, Sept.-Dec.) for a total of about 72 hours of programming

Your partnership means a future for the Squad, and an enriching experience for your family. Please consider standing with us, and investing in a bright future for the Squad and for our students.
