Registered families--Please read this before you complete payment for UAS programs:
1. You may NOT choose and pay for any UAS program unless you have received confirmation from us that we have space for your Squad member.
2. ONCE YOUR PAYMENT IS COMPLETE, you'll receive a receipt by email from firstname.lastname@example.org. Please check your SPAM if you don't see this email in your inbox, and add this address to your safe list.
3. The emailed receipt contains all information for tax/FSA filing purposes, except for your Squad member's name. To add the name(s) of your Squad member(s) to the emailed receipt, please write in the full name(s) in the "Add note to seller" field at checkout.
4. PLEASE SAVE THE EMAILED RECEIPT. We do not yet have a system that auto-generates a list of all past payments you have made. We have to do this manually when you ask for it and this can be hard to do in a timely manner because of our bare-bones staffing.
SCHOOL-YEAR CANCELLATION POLICY: UAS cannot offer refunds within 2 weeks of the program day. Our programs require a high degree of research, planning, logistics, and care. We use registration numbers and fees to hire/confirm staff and to research program curricula. For the same reason, we cannot accommodate last-minute or walk-in registrations unless someone cancels.
Cancellations for underenrollment. If UAS must cancel an underenrolled program, we will give refunds to all families who have registered/paid.
Cancellations for weather and related conditions. If UAS must cancel due to inclement weather, we will offer a credit for a future program day.
SUMMER CANCELLATION POLICY: Please refer to our Summer Registration page for specific information on summer cancellation. Because of the degree of research, planning, logistics, and care that go into our programs, and because we use registration numbers and fees to hire/confirm staff and rent space for our programs, we cannot offer refunds any later than April 27, 2019. Cancellations prior to April 26 will incur a cancellation fee of $100 per child, per session.
EQUITY. Equity is important at Urban Adventure Squad. We want to build a system where families pay their fair share of the operating costs. Our user fees are lower than most other well-researched experiential learning programs because we want to serve families across the socioeconomic spectrum. We encourage families who can afford to pay more for UAS programs to pay more by adding an item from the "UAS Donations" category below. Your receipt will indicate that it is a tax-deductible donation.
Your fair share contribution will enable more families to access UAS programs. The fair share concept allows you to determine how much more you want to contribute; it is a decision based on your income level and your view of what UAS programs are worth. We hope that you will consider making a fair share contribution of any amount that fits your family budget. In addition to equity, your contribution is also an indicator of the viability of the UAS model as we bring community-based, experiential learning to K-12 education.
